Quran8 is a Quran reading and listening cross platform app organized around the traditional "thumun" division system — the format used in widely circulated printed Qurans.

Core concept and content

• Reading and recitation organized by thumun, matching the layout of the most commonly used printed Mus'hafs worldwide

• Support for four Quranic recitation traditions (riwayat): Hafs (used across the Middle East, Asia, Europe and the Americas), Warsh (North/West Africa and Nigeria), Qalun (Libya and Tunisia), and Al-Duri (Sudan, Chad, Central and East Africa)

• All audio recitations performed by Sheikh Mahmoud Khalil Al-Husary (1917–1980), chosen for the precision of his tajweed and his faithfulness to the Quranic text; the app includes background on his scholarly credentials and recognitions from Al-Azhar
